- A British King who led other kings in Britain against the Angles. The British entrapped the Angles (English, Bernicians) near Lindisfarne and nearly annihiliated them. Urien was slain in the battle by a man on his own side, probably in jealousy. The armies lost their strength and departed, even on the edge of victory. The battle was continued by his son Owain. Urien was very famous in his days and he was compared to King Arthur. Like Arthur, his kingdom was always one of plenty and some have even suggested that he was the legendary King Arthur. But even in the Arthurian legend, Urien appears as the husband of Morgan Le Fay.
